Grevy's Zebra
Grevy’s zebras are the largest and most striking of all zebra species, instantly recognisable by their narrow, closely spaced stripes and unstriped white belly. Their bold patterning gives them a distinctive, elegant appearance that sets them apart from other zebras.
These impressive equids are highly territorial, with males marking and defending their space using vocal calls and scent markings. Despite their strong territorial behaviour, they are also social grazers, often found feeding peacefully on open grasslands.
Grevy’s zebras are found only in Ethiopia and Kenya and are currently classified as endangered in the wild due to habitat loss and competition for resources. As herbivores, they rely on grazing grasses to sustain their energy across the hot, arid landscapes they inhabit.
