New Giraffe Feeding Encounters

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new experience at West Midlands Safari Park, one that brings you face-to-face with the tallest land animals on Earth!

Guests now have the chance to get up close to our majestic giraffes and hand-feed them some ‘browse’ (leaves, shoots, buds, and occasionally bark that giraffes eat from trees and shrubs). This is a magical moment with unforgettable photo ops, and a truly special opportunity to support the welfare of these gentle giants.

As part of the experience, you can choose to purchase a fresh leafy branch for just £5.00 per person, allowing you to hand-feed the giraffes as they browse naturally, just as they would in the wild.

This form of enrichment not only creates memorable moments for you and your family, but also plays a valuable role in the giraffes’ wellbeing. It encourages natural foraging behaviour, helps keep them active and curious, and strengthens the bond between animals, keepers, and guests.

This encounter is on our African Walking Trail, which you join on foot, just before you get to the Adventure Theme Park. Follow the Giraffe Feeding signage up to our Savannah Viewpoint, one of the most peaceful parts of the Park. Here you can gaze over the Safari Drive and also spot other species like white rhinos, waterbuck, eland and zebras.

Giraffe feeding branches are available to purchase at the trail for £5.00 per person, subject to availability. Every day: at 2:30pm. Weekends and school holidays: Additional session at 11:00am.

Book your tickets now and enjoy a truly unforgettable experience!
