Giraffe Jamboree Swings in for May
A towering celebration is arriving this May, as we launch our brand-new event, Giraffe Jamboree – a lively, family-friendly festival dedicated to one of the world’s most iconic animals.
Running across selected dates from 2 to 31 May, including Bank Holiday weekends and May half term, the event promises a packed programme of giraffe-themed fun.
At the heart of the action is the brand-new Jumping Giraffes Live Show, where rangers will flip, fly and tumble through an energetic stunt performance – even vaulting over a jeep.
Families can follow the Giraffe Trail, solving clues around the Discovery Trail for a chance to win an unforgettable overnight stay in a Giraffe Safari Lodge.
Younger visitors can also get hands-on in Crafty Cubs Corner, creating giraffe masks and leaving messages for the giraffe keepers.
The whole event is focussed on these unique animals, so the team at the Conservation Station will shine a spotlight on giraffe conservation, with funds raised supporting the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and its vital work protecting Nubian giraffes in Uganda.
Senior PR & Events Executive, Bethan Davis, said, “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing a brand-new event to West Midlands Safari Park, all centred around the wonder of giraffes. Giraffe Jamboree is designed to be fun, lively and full of unforgettable moments for our guests, but we also hope it leaves something lasting behind. If guests walk away not only entertained but also inspired to understand and help protect wild giraffe populations, then we’ll have achieved something truly special.”
Adding to the fun, guests can meet Gerald the Giraffe, a loveable new character who normally resides at Kidderminster Harriers, but is taking a break from football to meet guests at the Park for photos and high fives.
Animal encounters remain a highlight, with the return of the popular giraffe feeding sessions, offering visitors the chance to hand-feed these gentle giants.
Guests will also have the chance to spot the Park’s newest and most adorable arrivals, calves Olive (born January 2026) and Namara (born October 2025), as they explore their habitat alongside the rest of the herd.
With thrilling entertainment, up-close animal experiences and meaningful conservation messages, Giraffe Jamboree is set to be a must-visit event.
Giraffe Jamboree activities are included in the admission charge, and guests are encouraged to book online in advance for the best prices. Children under the age of three are free.
Giraffe feeding will start on 2 May and guests can purchase browse for a small charge.
