Our Future Conservationists Achieve Excellent Exam Results
Students studying animal care and animal management at the Park are celebrating with their tutors, after achieving nationally outstanding exam results.
Staff from our Education Team joined students at Kidderminster College, as they received their results today (21 August) and last Thursday (14 August).
100% of students finishing their two-year course in Animal Management, passed with flying colours and those who have chosen to, will be going to their first choice of universities.
Those not going to university will be completing internships at the Safari Park or will be furthering their studies with Level 4 Animal Management in higher education.
Level 1 and 2 students also saw an 100% pass rate, with Level 1 students all achieving a merit or distinction grade, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Education Team, who have supported the students throughout their studies.
Head of Education, Nicola Morgan, said, “We are delighted to celebrate another exceptional year of student achievement within the Animal Care programmes delivered at West Midlands Safari Park. These outstanding results are a testament to the dedication and perseverance of both our learners and staff, who have clearly benefited from the immersive and professionally realistic environment in which they study. Their success reflects not only their commitment but also the high-quality educational experience provided by our team."
She continued, “I would especially like to commend our fantastic Wildlife Team, whose passion and expertise enrich the students’ learning experience by offering deeper insights into the animal care industry. Also, congratulations to all our students! Staff here and at Kidderminster College have thoroughly enjoyed teaching and mentoring this talented group of future animal professionals. We wish every student the very best in their next steps and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their chosen fields. Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments."
90% of students studying their first year of Level 3 Animal Management passed, meaning they will continue their studies for a second year at the Park.
As well as welcoming visiting schools, the Education Team are lecturers for Level 1, 2 and 3 courses and work in partnership with Kidderminster College, so that learners get an incredible learning experience in a truly unique and immersive environment.
Each year, the Education Team deliver conservation sessions to around 35,000 school children and lecture up to 70 further education students, moving towards their aim of inspiring the next generation of conservationists.
