Description: West Midlands Safari Park are sourcing applicants for the role of Deputy Education Manager, The primary objective of the Deputy Education Manager is to assist with the overall management responsibilities of the eduction department. Other tasks include developing and implementing engaging products and services suitable for a wide range of service users.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

* Co-ordinating the Education team on a daily basis, identifying and pro- actively managing the assignment and completing of departmental workload, appropriate staffing levels and supporting positive communication to encourage new ideas that will enhance educational products and services

* Assisting with the creation and management of staffing schedules against departmental workload and set budgets. Including all employee annual leave requests and approval of hours for accurate payroll payments

* Assisting with the development of educational products and services, utilising knowledge and insight of the education industry to design and implement engaging activities

* Co-ordinating the recruitment of departmental staff, ensuring seasonal recruitment is in line with the additional needs of the department

* Ensuring the Education team are appropriately trained and developed in line with all educational products and services

* Conducting observation and evaluation of onsite educational product and service delivery. ensuring continuous improvements are pro-actively made to maintain high standards throughout the Education team

* Pro-actively keep up to date with developments in the national curriculum, educational products and services and educational industry best practice

* Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with external educational establishments in order to gain insight and knowledge of educational products and service requirements and expectations

* Be able to deliver and assess all educational products and services in line with the needs of the department

* Develop and deliver additional products and events to promote current and upcoming educational products and services, including career days, teacher events, open days and enrolment taster sessions

* Oversee the support of the Research & Conservation Officer with promoting conservation within the organisation through keeper weeks, evening talks and onsite events available to both employees and guests

Education/Qualifications

* Minimum degree level qualification in Animal Care, Animal Management, Zoology, Conservation or related subject is essential

* Teaching, presenter or educator experience is essential, alongside a formal teaching qualification

* Assessor qualification

* Supervisor and/or managerial experience is essential
