Spooky Spectacular
Saturday 15 October 2011 - Sunday 30 October 2011
Saturday 15 October 2011 - Sunday 30 October 2011

There’s something very spooky going on at West Midland Safari Park and it all starts on Saturday, 15th October 2011.
Spooky Spectacular is an event that is full of entertainment and ghoulishly good fun for half term. Running daily from Saturday 15th October up to Sunday 30th October and on selected evenings, everyone is encouraged to dress up and take part in a variety of hands on spooky activities and animal encounters to celebrate the spookiest of seasons.
Spooky Days
The animal reserves will open every day throughout this extra spooky event from 10.00am and will remain open for the entire day, closing at 5.00pm. The African Village exhibits close at 5.00pm too. There will be Spooky themed Sea Lion Shows at 12.30pm and 3.30pm and Spooky Animal Encounters at 12.00 noon and 3.00pm. The whole of the Discovery Trail and walkthrough areas are transformed with the creepiest of special effects with scarecrows around every turn. Then the daylight starts to fade and an extra eerie atmosphere prevails!

Spooky Nights
Get ready for some great Halloween fun and capers as Spooky Nights open on 15th and 16th October, then inclusively from 21st October until 30th October. The evening events in Treetops start at 5.30pm with a Spooky Animal Spell carried out by the Wild Woods Witch - a fun, interactive encounter with a range of small critters to meet - there's more at 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm if you miss the first showing. Amongst these is the Pirate themed Sea Lion Show at 7.00pm, and the Reptile Crypt of Horror where our local graveyard keeper will introduce you to his best friend a 8ft long Reticulated Python. Tree Tops Pavilion will also host the ever-popular Creative Capers craft based family activities from 5.30pm to 9.00pm.
During the whole event the all-weather Discovery Trail exhibits will be open and a distinctly creepy air will exist. Visit Twilight Cave, with it’s free flying bats; Creepy Crawlies, home to hundreds of tiny creatures of the night; Seaquarium that exhibits some of the weird and wonderful creatures that live in our oceans and Mark O’Shea’s Reptile World, home to some of the deadliest snakes and reptiles around.
To round off a perfectly Spooky Spectacular, there are late night rides –including Venom and the Black Fly – along with a host of fun games and attractions to suit every budding ghoul and ghostie.
