Animals have teeth to suit their diet. Carnivores are animals that eat other animals and need big, strong, sharp teeth to kill and tear the meat off their prey.

Herbivores are animals that eat plants and fruit, they also need some sharp teeth to bite off fruits and tough grasses but also have large back teeth to grind up the tough plants which they find.
 
Bengal Tiger
The Bengal Tiger is a carnivore and preys on other animals for food. Adult Tigers have 30 large teeth. The length of the canine teeth can be between 2.5 to 3 inches (74.5 to 90 mm).
Wolf
The Wolf is also a carnivore and preys on other animals for food. It has strong jaws with sharp canine and carnassial (cheek) teeth for tearing and chewing meat.
   
Crocodile
The Crocodile is also a carnivore and has at least 60 teeth. In a lifetime a Crocodile may have up to 45 sets of teeth which grow to replace ones which break or wear out.
Hippo
The Hippo is a herbivore and feeds on short grasses. The upper and lower canine teeth which are often referred to as tusks, are long, thick, and very sharp and are used in fights with other Hippos.
   
Camel
The Camel is a herbivore, it has a large mouth, with 34 sharp teeth. They enable the animal to eat rough thorny bushes without damaging the lining of its mouth, and can be used as biting weapons against predators if it is attacked.
Giraffe
The Giraffe is also a herbivore, it has a a long neck a narrow muzzle and flexible upper lip, and has a very long tongue so it can reach the most nutritious leaves on the tops of the trees.
