Animals have made their homes all over the world and have learnt to survive
in even the toughest of environments.
Gnu
The Gnu lives in the Savannah grasslands ranging from Kenya to
South Africa. Gnus are very selective in their feeding habits,
this being the reason for their annual migration in search
of fresh feeding grounds. This can take them 1000's of miles.
Rabbit
Rabbits live in Burrows, which are holes that they dig deep in
the ground. Burrows keep them safe from predators such as Foxes.
Camel
There are two different species of Camel at the Park, the Arabian
Camel, native of deserts in North Africa, and the Bactrian
Camel from Asia. The desrt is a very dry place to live and
food and water is often scarce.
Bengal
Tiger
The Bengal Tiger lives in the mangrove forests of the Sundarbans
in East India and Bangladesh, where the River Ganges enters the
Bay of Bengal, although some are found in Northern and Central
India and Burma.
Sealion
The South African Fur Seal lives on off-shore islands and desolate
areas of rocky coastline on the southern coast of Africa from
Walvis Bay to Port Elizabeth.
Wapiti
The Wapiti live in the mountainous regions of North America, they
will migrate down towards the milder climates of the valleys
when the snow comes, however in Spring the Wapiti will make
their journey back to the mountains.
