Education Mission Statement
"To provide a fun and exciting learning experience that connects people with nature, creates better understanding of the world within which we live, raises awareness of the role of zoos and safari parks and contributes to a future where people live in better harmony with the natural world that surrounds them."
Education is a vital role of any modern Zoo or Safari Park. With over 600,000,000 visits being made annually to Zoos worldwide we have the opportunity to pass on knowledge to a vast audience and help encourage appreciation and understanding of the natural world.
Nothing can replace the experience of getting close to living wild animals. Through our facilities we can help provide access to these species, raise awareness of the world’s biodiversity and empower people to take positive action with regard to the protection of our environment.
We aim to create inspiring, imaginative, innovative and enjoyable learning experiences by developing multi-sensory information and communication technologies that cater for all ages, social backgrounds and learning disabilities, engaging you in thought and discussion, developing community relationships, and capturing your imagination and emotions.
To reach these goals we provide a variety of services including formal education talks, guided tours, informative displays and outreach projects.
